The Pilots Themselves

On smaller private jets seating 4 to 6 passengers, there is usually no cabin crew on board. The crew consists exclusively of two pilots, who are responsible not only for the safe operation of the flight but also for the basic care and comfort of the passengers.

Passenger Service

Before departure, the pilots typically leave the cockpit and personally greet the passengers. During the flight, one of the pilots will often assist with serving beverages when operational conditions allow.

If passengers order catering, it is usually provided in the form of convenient finger food. This may include small sandwiches, fresh fruit, salads, desserts, and other items designed to be easily enjoyed during the flight. The catering is stored in onboard compartments, allowing passengers to help themselves whenever they wish throughout the journey.

Larger Aircrafts

On larger long-range private jets, a flight attendant is always present and sometimes there are even two cabin crew members on board. In these cases the flight attendant is responsible for serving meals and drinks, adjusting seats and cabin settings and ensuring passengers remain comfortable throughout the flight.

Many of the largest business jets are also equipped with onboard ovens, allowing the cabin crew to serve freshly heated lunches, dinners and other premium catering options during the journey.
